Sanath Jayasuriya announced Sri Lanka’s head coach

Sri Lanka has announced their new head coach. After the T20I World Cup 2024, team consultant Mahela Jayawardene had stepped down, and along with him, team head coach Chris Silverwood also resigned from coaching the Sri Lankan team.

Now, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has appointed Sanath Jayasuriya as the new head coach. Sanath Jayasuriya will coach the Sri Lankan team for the upcoming white-ball series starting this month with india.

It has been stated by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board that until a new head coach is appointed, Sanath Jayasuriya will take charge of coaching the Sri Lankan team.

The Sri Lankan team did not manage to qualify for the Super 8 stage in the T20 World Cup 2024.
